Club Futsal: a space for initiative, creativity and self motivation

My parents always told us that they have raised us to succeed in the real world. Opportunities in this life many times happen in an organized environment but many times we have to go and fit ourselves in a foreign place such as another company, community or customer base.

Are we preparing our kids to these kinds of challenges?

Since I registered my first son in soccer in America I have been amazed of the job that community, parents and coaches do with these kids. The educational, social and entertainment value provided to these kids is tremendous. In the begging of soccer or any sport as a matter of fact, it was not done this way, past generations learned to play the game on their own with other kids in the neighborhood or at school in these kid-organized games. There are advantages in both models so why not complement our model with a space for initiative, creativity and self motivation such as youth pick-up games. This is what we aim to accomplish with “Club Futsal”.

The Club Futsal Program Details:
1. We will be providing the gym, a training vest and single referee, no coaches will be required.
2. The cost: $50 for 2008/2009 registered players/$60 for players that did not play for Tri-Valley Futsal this school year.
3. We have two sections (we may open more sections in the near future):
4. Girls: Sundays 9 AM – 11 AM
5. Boys: Sundays 10 AM – 12 Noon
6. Dates: 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31
7. Pick and choose among 12 hours of play (Six 2-hour sessions)
